Algae Lab Analyser

AlgaeLabAnalyser

The chlorophyll analysis includes the determination of the chlorophyll content, which replaces wet-chemical analysis. The pigments are spectrally excited by coloured LEDs. This enables the determination of the distribution of chlorophyll across the different algae classes. The photosynthetic activity of the algae is determined by the fluorescence pattern of the pigment excitation (Genty). The ALA is now supplied with a modern notebook/laptop with Win XP software - at no extra cost!

Used for:

  • Quantifying of the spectral algae classes: green algae, blue-green algae, brown algae (diatoms and dinoflagellates) and cryptophyceae.
  • Determination of total chlorophyll content.
  • Determination of photosynthetically active chlorophyll

Ideal Applications:

  • waterway analysis and assessment
  • general environmental assessment
  • intake monitoring
  • chemical analysis
  • toxicity testing
  • waste detection
  • dam monitoring
  • limnological work
  • research and education

Algae Online Analyser

AlgaeOnlineAnalyser

The bbe AlgaeOnlineAnalyser offers:

  • Online chlorophyll analysis for measuring stations as well as for laboratory use.
  • Simultaneous determination of chlorophyll concentration, photosynthetic activity of chlorophyll and transmission.
  • Determination of different algae classes by excitation using coloured LEDs; calculation of the content of green algae, blue-green algae, brown algae (diatoms and dinoflagellates) and cryptophyceae.
  • Direct measurement without sample preparation by filtration or solvents.
  • Information on the photosynthetic activity of chlorophyll due to different patterns of excitation, correlated to oxygen evolution; the commonly used fluorescence signals f0, f, fm referring to the Genty parameter method are used for calculation.
  • Yellow substance measurement (CDOM) to correct the calculation of the content of chlorophyll.

Ideal Applications:

  • waterway analysis and assessment
  • general environmental assessment
  • intake monitoring
  • chemical analysis
  • dam monitoring
  • limnological work
  • research and education
