Lauryl Tryptose Broth Tubes, single strength, 15/pk.
Selectivity: Total Coliform Bacteria (presumptive).

Lauryl Tryptose Broth is a selective and differential liquid medium used primarily for the detection of coliform bacteria in water, wastewater, dairy products, and other foods. Lauryl sulfate inhibits the growth of non-coliforms. Lactose allows detection of fermentation by production of gas which is detected with a Durham tube. (turbidity and gas production indicates the presence of coliforms). Tubes showing gas are transferred to Brilliant Green Bile Broth (BGBB) or EC Medium and incubated at 44.5°C to confirm fecal coliforms, especially E. coli.
