Measure ultra-low residual chlorine with confidence!

Protect chlorine-sensitive processes and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes with sensitive, low-ppb free chlorine measurement.

The Hach™ ULR Free Chlorine Fluorescence Test Kit measures 2–100 µg/L (ppb) Cl₂ using the DR1300 FL Portable Fluorometer. Designed for clean-water applications where very low residual chlorine concentrations matter, the fluorescence method provides the sensitivity needed to verify dechlorination performance and detect residual free chlorine at concentrations below 20 ppb.
Use the test to help optimize dechlorination processes and reduce the risk of oxidative damage to chlorine-sensitive RO membranes and other valuable process assets.

Why use ULR fluorescence for free chlorine?

Protect RO membranes
Detect very low residual free chlorine after dechlorination to help reduce the risk of chlorine-related membrane damage, loss of salt rejection, poor permeate quality, and premature membrane replacement.

Measure where conventional low-range testing becomes challenging
The 2 - 100 ppb measurement range provides the sensitivity needed for applications where knowing that chlorine is simply “low” is not enough.

Verify dechlorination performance
Use grab-sample measurements to confirm residual chlorine following physical or chemical dechlorination processes such as granular activated carbon (GAC) or chemical treatment.

Simple liquid-reagent workflow
Two liquid reagents supplied in dropper bottles simplify test preparation for routine ultra-low-range chlorine measurements.

Measure at the point of use
Paired with the portable DR1300 FL Fluorometer, samples can be analyzed near the process, helping minimize changes in chlorine concentration between sampling and measurement.

Applications
Ideal for clean-water applications requiring ultra-low residual chlorine measurement, including:
• Reverse osmosis feedwater
• RO membrane protection
• Dechlorination process monitoring
• Granular activated carbon (GAC) dechlorination
• Chemical dechlorination
• High-purity and process water
• Electronics and semiconductor water systems
• Power and steam generation
• Pharmaceutical and other chlorine-sensitive processes
